There is no option to work remotely. Work setting Rural area Remote location Responsibilities Tasks Operate survey instruments and devices Participate in field surveys Keep survey information in systematic order Assist in the calculation, analysis and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings, charts and plans Keep records, measurements and other survey information in systematic order Analyze latitude, longitude and angles and compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours and areas to a specific scale Assist survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop methods and procedures for conducting field surveys Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations and contours Determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment Prepare detailed drawings, charts and plans and survey notes and reports Record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities Supervise and co-ordinate field survey activities Credentials Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses Certification by a provincial or territorial association Experience and specialization Computer and technology knowledge Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Additional information Security and safety Driver's validity licence check Transportation/travel information Vehicle supplied by employer Valid driver's licence Own tools/equipment Safety equipment/gear Steel-toed safety boots Hard hat Safety vest Personal suitability Accurate Client focus Dependability Judgement Reliability Team player Benefits Health benefits Dental plan Disability benefits Health care plan Vision care benefits Financial benefits Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
