Responsibilities Tasks Keep records, measurements and other survey information in systematic order Analyze latitude, longitude and angles and compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours and areas to a specific scale Assist survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop methods and procedures for conducting field surveys Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations and contours Determine precise geographic locations using global positioning systems (GPS) equipment Prepare detailed drawings, charts and plans and survey notes and reports Record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities Supervise and co-ordinate field survey activities Experience and specialization Computer and technology knowledge Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Additional information Security and safety Driver's validity licence check Transportation/travel information Vehicle supplied by employer Valid driver's licence Own tools/equipment Safety equipment/gear Steel-toed safety boots Hard hat Safety vest Gloves Personal suitability Accurate Client focus Dependability Judgement Organized Reliability Team player Benefits Health benefits Dental plan Disability benefits Health care plan Vision care benefits Financial benefits Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP)
