Advisory Board Member – Strategic Development (Power Generation/Oil & GAS / Data Center / Construction Edmonton or Calgary (Remote) Jay Pinniger, from Lock Search Group, has been retained by a growing Energy Manufacturer & Service company to find an experienced Advisory Board Member to provide strategic guidance, market insight, and executive-level counsel to support the continued growth of the organization. This role will focus on identifying strategic growth opportunities, expanding market presence, strengthening customer and industry relationships, and positioning the company for long-term success across the power generation, energy, oil & gas, and emerging data center sectors. The successful Advisory Board Member will be a seasoned executive with extensive experience driving strategic growth, business development, and market expansion within the power generation, energy, oil & gas, or related industrial sectors. They will bring a proven ability to identify new market opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, advise on corporate growth initiatives, and navigate evolving industry trends. This individual will provide high-level strategic oversight while leveraging their industry network and commercial expertise to help the organization expand its market presence, strengthen its competitive position, and capitalize on opportunities across traditional and emerging energy markets, including the rapidly growing demand for power infrastructure supporting data centers. This advisory role requires a flexible part-time commitment with weekly advisory board meetings conducted either virtually or in person, along with occasional ad hoc consultations to provide strategic guidance and operational support as needed. Responsibilities: Provide strategic guidance on long-term business growth and market expansion initiatives Identify new opportunities across the power generation, energy, oil & gas, and industrial infrastructure sectors Advise on market positioning, competitive strategy, and emerging industry trends Support the development of strategic partnerships, key customer relationships, and alliance opportunities Provide insight into major capital projects, power infrastructure investments, and industry developments Advise leadership on growth strategies related to power generation technologies, energy transition, and industrial services Evaluate acquisition, diversification, and geographic expansion opportunities Leverage industry relationships to open doors with key customers, EPC firms, utilities, and strategic partners Provide executive mentorship and strategic counsel to the leadership team on commercial growth and organizational development Offer insight into evolving opportunities supporting data center power infrastructure, backup generation, and critical power applications Qualifications: 10-15 years of executive leadership experience in strategic development, business growth, or commercial leadership Extensive background within the power generation, energy, oil & gas, or industrial infrastructure sectors Demonstrated success developing and executing long-term growth strategies and market expansion initiatives Strong network of industry relationships across utilities, energy producers, EPC firms, industrial customers, or power generation organizations Proven ability to identify emerging market opportunities and advise organizations through periods of growth Strong understanding of power generation technologies, energy markets, and industrial service businesses Experience supporting strategic planning, corporate development, mergers & acquisitions, or business diversification initiatives is considered an asset Solid financial and commercial acumen, including capital investment evaluation and strategic decision-making Ability to influence executive leadership, provide objective guidance, and foster organizational accountability Excellent communication, relationship-building, and advisory skills, with previous board or advisory experience considered a strong asset If you’re an experienced operational leader looking for a part time advisory position, please submit your resume to Jay Pinniger, Senior Recruitment Consultant by using the “Apply” button. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jay-pinniger-92a9334/ Thank you in advance for your interest, only individuals deemed to have the skill set and experience to fit the role will be contacted.
