Job Posting: Mobile Security Guard (Contracted to Municipality) Position: Mobile Security Guard Employer: Logixx Security Inc. Status: Full-Time / Part-Time / Casual Location: City of Oshawa Shifts: Permanent Nights or Days Pay: $20.04/hr - $22.46/hr Position Duties and Responsibilities Logixx Security Inc. is currently seeking professional and reliable Mobile Security Guards for a municipal contract. This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety of municipal staff, volunteers, the public, and city‑owned properties. Successful candidates will conduct both mobile and foot patrols, respond to incidents, and uphold municipal safety standards with integrity and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Conduct mobile and foot patrols of municipal buildings, parks, facilities, and public spaces. Provide protective services to municipal staff, volunteers, and members of the public. Assists staff and visitors with customer service & security related initiatives in a professional & approachable manner. Monitor for safety hazards, suspicious activity, vandalism, and policy or bylaw violations. Respond to incidents, alarms, and service calls in a timely and professional manner. Utilize body‑worn cameras and two‑way radios in accordance with company and municipal protocols. Prepare accurate, detailed incident reports and daily activity logs. Apply the Trespass to Property Act and relevant sections of the Criminal Code of Canada when appropriate. Support municipal operations during events, emergencies, and facility closures. Maintain a strong, visible security presence to deter unwanted behaviour. Liaise with law enforcement and other emergency services personnel (i.e. Durham Regional Police, Oshawa Fire and Emergency Services, Durham Regional Paramedic Services etc) when dealing with routine and emergency situations. Operate company vehicles safely and maintain a clean, professional driving record. Exercises the Powers of Arrest and detention when required. Informs and warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles. Investigates complaints and property related incidents. Displays administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and complete work within prescribed deadlines. Utilizes software to complete electronic patrol tours. Qualifications Valid provincial Security Guard License. Clear driver’s abstract and valid Class G (or equivalent) driver’s license. (This is a must) Minimum 1–2 years of security experience, preferably in mobile patrol or public‑sector environments. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislative policies such as the Criminal Code of Canada and Trespass to Property Act of Ontario. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and its application in field of law enforcement. Demonstrated ability to prepare clear, concise, and legible notebook entries and detailed security incident reports. Ability to work up to twelve (12) hour shift schedules. Excellent communication, observation, and report‑writing skills. Ability to de‑escalate situations and remain calm under pressure. Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Ability to work independently with sound judgment and professionalism. Must pass a background check. Assets (Preferred) First Aid/CPR certification. Use of Force Mental Health Awareness Response Training Verbal De-escalation Training Experience working with municipalities or public‑facing security roles. Training in crisis intervention, mental health awareness, or de‑escalation. Familiarity with municipal bylaws and public‑sector procedures.
