They deliver commercial, institutional, and industrial projects across Canada. They are one of the largest GCs in their region, distinguished by their ability to self-perform a significant portion of their work and their ownership of equipment, giving them greater control, flexibility, and responsiveness on every project. Our client is in a period of sustained growth, actively building out their project management team to match the volume of work coming through the door. They are seeking a Senior Project Manager who can take immediate ownership of active projects, help strengthen the processes, thrive with autonomy, manage both internal self-perform crews and subcontracted trades, hold the budget accountable, and deliver results in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment. This is a permanent, full-time role based out of Bonnyville, AB or Edmonton for those willing to travel/rotate. Projects are located across Western and Northern Canada, regular travel to site is expected. Role Responsibilities Own the full project lifecycle from cradle to grave including schedule management, progress reporting, budget tracking, owner coordination, and field operations while maintaining adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality standards, and safety requirements Manage project teams including project coordinators, superintendents, foremen, and field crews within your chain of command. Oversee subcontractor procurement, coordination, and relationship management for both external subs and internal crews. Manage all RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation with accuracy and urgency. Project coordinators handle day-to-day processing; you provide final review, sign-off, and authority. Prepare and submit progress claims and manage project accounting, including budget tracking, billings, and trade invoices. Work on the job site regularly to monitor progress, document conditions, and support your site team particularly on rural and remote project sites. Maintain all project documentation in Procore, ensuring currency and accessibility for the full project team. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders. Managing expectations, resolving conflicts, and maintaining clear, proactive communication throughout. Navigate the unique logistics of rural and remote construction like crew mobilization, site access, and creative problem-solving. Communicate construction progress, issues, and milestones clearly and proactively to clients, owners, and internal stakeholders. Monitor contractual and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies proactively. Participate in post-project closeout reviews, capturing lessons learned to drive improvement across future projects. Required Skills & Qualifications 10+ years of commercial construction experience with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the commercial construction industry, ideally with a general contractor. Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, trades, and client relationships on commercial construction projects. Ability to manage multiple large projects and project teams simultaneously with minimal supervision. Strong financial acumen with experience managing costing, forecasting, change orders, and progress billings. Excellent communicator with the ability to build trust with clients, trades, consultants, and internal teams at all levels. Comfortable working in rotational and travel-heavy schedules across rural and remote project sites in Western and Northern Canada. Demonstrated leadership experience managing site staff, subcontractors, and consultants to successfully deliver complex commercial construction projects. Proficiency with construction management platforms such as Procore is an asset. Experience with Bluebeam, Outbuild, or SiteDocs is also considered an asset. Certifications such as PMP or Gold Seal are considered an asset. Red Seal trade certification, CET, P.Eng, or post-secondary education in Construction Management or an Engineering-related field is considered an asset. First Aid & CPR, CSTS, and WHMIS certifications are required or expected to be obtained upon hire. Valid driver's lisence with an acceptable driver's abstract. We thank all interested applicants.
