JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintaining all press functions on a 40” multi-colour press * Carefully review job order dockets to understand specifications * Confirm paper requirements for each job matching docket specifications including size and quantity * Ensure that all required press plates have been prepared and brought to the press * Set the feeder and load/unload paper in and out of the press * Ensure that the inks are set as per specifications and fill the ink fountains as required * Ensure there are no crop marks in the work and that all jobs have proper bleeds * Clean the ink fountains as required throughout the day * Assist with press wash up * Have paper and supplies ready in advance of each job and for the next shift * Notify the Press Operator and/or Supervisor of any machine defects or hazards * Remove press plates and dispose them in the proper containers or gum plates as required * Participate in regular preventative maintenance requirements for the press and associated equipment * Monitor the chemistry inventory and notify management when supplies need to be ordered SKILLS AND ABILITIES: * Customer service and results oriented * Meticulous attention to detail is essential * Mechanically inclined with high manual dexterity skills * Visual acuity with the ability to differentiate colours * Able to lift or move up to 50 lbs. * Able to stand for long periods of time and manage long hours of physical activity * Able to function well in a fast-paced noisy manufacturing environment * Able to work both independently and as part of a team to meet production and quality targets * Strong command of the English language (oral & written) * Able to work rotating day shift QUALIFICATIONS: * Completion of Secondary school or equivalent experience * Previous experience as a Press Feeder is an asset * Strong knowledge of printing substrates * Computer literacy and related software proficiency * Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment * Must hold or be eligible to attain Government security screening to secret level Lowe-Martin is an equal opportunity employer.
