Why You’ll Love This Role Lumentum is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative student to join the Optical Communication Transport Engineering team in Ottawa, Ontario. As a member of the Program Management Office, you will be leading Release Management projects that will help maintain and grow our business. You will work with Lumentum engineers, as well as our overseas factories, suppliers and contract manufacturers to improve product cost, security of supply and manufacturing capacity. You will be joining a company that is expanding and changing rapidly. Lumentum’s products are designed to make AI datacenters more power-efficient, thereby alleviating the industry’s current concerns about water consumption in a very significant way. What You’ll Be Doing Take ownership of critical projects as the lead Project Manager, defining and documenting project scope, goals, budget, and deliverables with support from the Program Management Office and other stakeholders Develop and create the project structure and maintain thorough documentation in Confluence Support the development and implementation of a broad, coordinated set of plans and schedules to meet the goals and priorities of Lumentum Regularly collaborate with the Senior Program Manager to monitor and control project schedules with engineering teams and communicate project status (technical and programmatic) to stakeholders and management Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion by leading regular occurring meetings Support the development process by ordering and tracking the program’s material procurement through Oracle Enterprise Manager Actively participate in hiring and onboarding the next cohort of co-ops, and develop training resources What We’re Looking For Education: Working towards a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with an interest in Project or Program Management, returning to school starting September 2028 Skills: Excellent leadership skills, combining critical thinking with empathetic and diplomatic communication Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong organizational skills Ability to work in ambiguous situations and define a path to resolution Demonstrated ability to form collaborative and cooperative working relationships in all interactions Motivated team player, self-starter and detail-oriented The following would be considered an asset: Previous co-op experience Involvement in extra-curricular activities Working knowledge of Miro, Confluence, JIRA, Oracle, Agile, or Tableau Perks You’ll Love Free parking Free gym Cafeteria with subsidized meals and free coffee/tea Prayer room Games room Pay Range: $24-35/hr Candidates must be eligible to complete a background check as part of the hiring process Join a Team That’s Shaping the Future At Lumentum, we’re more than just a workplace—we’re a launchpad for creativity and innovation.
