Software Engineer, Async Platform

Responsibilities: Maintain and analyze metrics from; operating systems; control planes; and applications to assist in fault detection and performance enhancement Design, develop and deploy tooling and systems that continually improve the reliability, scalability and efficiency of our platform Balance feature development speed and reliability with service-level objectives Operate and improve our Infrastructure using industry best practices and tools Participate in design and production readiness reviews, platform management and capacity planning ceremonies with cross-functional teams Document Infrastructure operations process and insights, identify repeatable actions and ruthlessly automate repetitive tasks Participate in our teams on-call rotations, respond to incidents and support other teams mitigate customer impacting events Experience: 5+ years experience working on teams responsible for software development, automation and systems engineering Experience building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks. Knowledge with SQS, Kafka and Kinesis is a bonus. Experience developing in Go, Python, or other object-oriented programming languages Experience working with a cloud-based environments such as AWS/GCP/Azure Take pride in reducing technical debt; you pay attention to small details, and you value keeping code/configuration clean and maintainable. Additionally, hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year. #Hybrid The expected base pay range for this position in the Toronto area is CAD $108,000 - CAD $135,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location. Maintain and analyze system metrics to improve platform reliability, scalability, and efficiency while automating repetitive operational tasks. Participate in on-call rotations, incident response, and cross-functional design reviews to ensure production readiness.

Requires 5+ years of experience in software development, automation, and systems engineering with expertise in building large-scale distributed infrastructure. Proficiency in Go, Python, or similar object-oriented languages and experience with cloud environments like AWS, GCP, or Azure is essential.
