Rowntree Montessori Schools is a member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP), a consortium of high performing international schools located across the globe. The Deputy Head of School works in close partnership with the Head of School to provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and instructional guidance to ensure the continued growth, effectiveness, and success of the school. This role is critical in driving school improvement, fostering a strong culture of learning, and maintaining high standards across all aspects of school life. Core Responsibilities Contribute to and implement the school vision and School Development Plan (SDP) Lead delegated areas with clear accountability and measurable impact Maintain a visible leadership presence and support daily operations Model excellence in leadership, teaching, and professionalism Promote safeguarding, well-being, and holistic student development Deputize for the Head of School as required Strategic Leadership & Development Support strategic planning, policy development, and school improvement priorities Ensure curriculum design meets diverse learner needs and progression Use data to inform decision-making, track progress, and drive improvement Lead professional development aligned to strategic goals Leadership & Management Inspire and empower staff while maintaining high expectations and accountability Lead change effectively through clear communication and collaboration Line manage staff, addressing performance and supporting development Contribute to financial planning, resource management, and operational efficiency Learning & Teaching Lead implementation of the Learning Improvement Plan (LIP) Promote high-quality, innovative teaching and effective use of data Monitor student outcomes and drive instructional improvement Support collaboration, cross-curricular alignment, and target setting Ensure inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environments Safeguarding & Well-Being Uphold safeguarding standards and ensure compliance with all policies Foster a culture of care, respect, and student well-being Operational Leadership & Professional Expectations Support school operations, staffing, scheduling, and resource planning Maintain a strong, visible presence across the school community Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to school culture Pay Range: We anticipate the salary of $68,000 - $75,000 CAD. An individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors which include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Extended benefits may be offered to eligible employees including PTO, company paid holidays, and other insurances. Closing Date: 07/31/2026 ISP Principles Begin with our children and students.
