We are seeking a motivated and reliable Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will assist with diagnosing basic issues and performing repairs for clients in their homes, in-shop, and in residential care settings. This role requires a compassionate attitude, willingness to learn, and the ability to provide respectful and supportive service. Key Responsibilities: Delivering, setting up, and installing equipment within a client's home and/or facility. Equipment includes wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts, and pediatric equipment such as strollers and standers Setting up and inspecting equipment in a manner that ensures the overall cleanliness, safety, and quality of the equipment Troubleshooting and providing timely diagnosis recommendations for repair. Perform maintenance and provide customer support diagnosing issues and offering solutions. Explain issues with equipment and repairs to clients Working with Seating and Mobility Consultants on equipment trials and demonstrations, in conjunction with healthcare professionals Adhering to Macdonald's Home Health Care's Safety procedures to ensure a safe work environment. Fill out detailed work orders and keep records on services that have been performed and order parts needed for repairs if needed Build and maintain relationships with clients, which encourage loyalty Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and programmable logic controllers, or remove and replace defective parts Educating clients on how to use and maintain their equipment Calibrate components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports. Operating any one of Macdonald's Home Health Care's service fleet vehicles safely and courteously Required Qualifications: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, computers, and internet use Technically proficient with a keen interest in repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems Ability to lift weight of up to 100lb Team-oriented and dependable with a strong work ethic Extremely organized and detailed oriented Effective at multitasking and managing time Must hold a valid BC drivers license Previous healthcare experience is an asset, but not required Working knowledge of tools and repairs Ability to work independently without much supervision Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces We encourage everybody to apply even if they don’t meet all the qualifications.
