We are currently seeking a Chief Mine Geologist to join our team at Crean Hill! The Chief Mine Geologist is responsible for sustainable and reliable mine geological services to support safe and efficient underground operations. All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty, integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence. Responsibilities: Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties Oversee grade control, geological mapping, orebody interpretation and effective reconciliations and resource definition. Oversee geological mapping, core logging, and sampling in underground workings and drill cores. Ensure timely and accurate ore control models to support daily, weekly, and monthly mine planning. Manage ore mark-ups and geological guidance to operations to minimize dilution and maximize ore recovery. Collaborate with exploration teams on near-mine drilling programs. Provide input into drilling design, core logging, QA/QC, and geological modeling. Ensure up-to-date 3D geological models reflecting current understanding of mineralization. Support resource geologists in resource estimation updates and reconciliation. Lead monthly production reconciliation between mine, plant, and resource model. Prepare and deliver regular reports on geological performance, ore quality, and team KPIs. Identify and implement improvements to geological processes and technologies. Work cross-functionally with mine planning, engineering, and metallurgy teams to optimize resource extraction. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed. Supervise and mentor a team of mine technical services support staff. Requirements Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Science or another related field. Professional Geoscientist of Ontario certification or eligibility for certification is required. Work Experience: Nature & Length 8 or more years of experience in underground mine geology. 3 or more years in a leadership role. Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills Expertise in geological modeling software (e.g., Datamine). Effective leadership and communication skills. Sound knowledge of underground mining methods. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and safety practices in underground mining. Budgeting, cost control, and project management expertise. Benefits What's in It for You?
