Senior Geologist, Production

The Senior Geologist, Production delivers sustainable and reliable mine geological services to support safe and efficient underground operations at Magna Mining’s Levack Mine. All Magna Mining team members are expected to work collaboratively with others, lead the way in health and safety, act with honesty, integrity, and foster an entrepreneurial spirit in pursuit of excellence. Responsibilities: Design, implement and perform grade control, geological mapping, orebody interpretation and effective reconciliations and resource definition practises and standard operating procedures. Design and implement and perform diamond drilling programs, core logging, and sampling and QAQC practises and procedures. Ensure geologic models, including short-term block modelling, are up-to-date and accurate. Collaborate with exploration teams on near-mine drilling programs. Supervise and mentor geologists, technologists, and field personnel involved in production geology activities. Ensure production geology activities comply with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements. Deliver monthly production reconciliation between mine and resource model. Prepare and deliver regular reports on geological performance, ore quality, and team KPIs. Identify and implement improvements to geological processes and technologies. Work cross-functionally with mine planning, engineering, operations and metallurgy teams to optimize resource extraction. Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed. Requirements Qualifications: Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents Post-secondary education in Geological Sciences, Geological Engineering, or a related field. Professional Geoscientist designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain PGO is required. Work Experience: Nature & Length 7 or more years of mineral exploration, with a focus on underground mining operations. Key Competencies: Behaviours & Skills Expertise in geological modeling software (e.g., Datamine, Leapfrog). Effective communication skills. Sound knowledge of underground mining methods. The Senior Geologist manages grade control, geological mapping, and orebody interpretation to support underground operations. They are responsible for supervising production geology staff and ensuring accurate geologic models and production reconciliations.

Requires a degree in Geological Sciences or Engineering and a Professional Geoscientist designation in Ontario. Candidates must have 7 or more years of experience in mineral exploration with a focus on underground mining.
