About the Role Magris Talc is one of the world’s leading talc producers, and our Penhorwood site is located in Northern Ontario, between Foleyet and Timmins, as part of our Canadian operations. We are seeking a Mine Supervisor to support operations at our Penhorwood site. This role is critical in ensuring mining activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production and quality targets. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Mine Supervisor oversees the coordination between internal teams, contractors, and technical services to ensure mining plans are translated into effective field execution. The role holds accountability for schedule adherence, cost control, and operational performance. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance * Ensure all mining activitiescomply withsite safety standards, regulations, and company policies * Support safety programs, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives * Promote safe work practices and hold contractors accountable for safety performance * Support risk assessments and monitoring programs related to open pit operations Project Coordination & Operations * Assiststhe engineering team in short-term mining schedules (0–12 months) aligned with mine plans * Monitor contractor performance against production targets and key metrics * Translate mining plans and designs into executable field activities * Coordinate drilling, blasting, excavation, and crushing activities * Act as the primary interface between site operations and contractors * Lead planning meetings and performance reviews * Prepare reports, status updates, and performance tracking documentation Budget & Cost Control * Track mining costs against budgets and forecasts * Review contractor performance, productivity, and invoicing * Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions * Support budgeting and forecasting processes for mining activities Leadership & Collaboration * Work closely with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Environment, Operations) * Build strong working relationships with contractors, stakeholders, and regulators * Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives * Support HR, HSEQ, and site compliance requirements as needed Qualifications & Experience * 4–6+ years of experience in mining or construction operations * Strong understanding of open pit mining and contractor-based operations * Previous supervisory or leadership experience * Experience with mobile equipment operations is considered an asset * Strong knowledge of safety and operational best practices Skills & Attributes * Strong organizational and planning skills * Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities * Effective communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines * Confident in using MS Office tools (Excel, Project, Word) * Self-motivated with the ability to work independently * Strong leadership and team-building capabilities What We're Looking For * Safety-focused leader witha strong senseof accountability * Collaborative and professional in working with diverse stakeholders * Adaptable and resourceful in managing complex operational challenges * Driven to improve performance, efficiency, and team effectiveness Why Join Magris Talc? * Work on a dynamic, contractor-driven mining operation * Opportunity to impact production performance and site strategy * Collaborative team environment across technical and operational groups * Comprehensive benefits package, employer paid * Pension offerings * A 4/10 schedule with 3-day weekends * Employeeassistanceprogram (EAP) and access to Personify Health, a personal wellness and rewards platform * Travel allowance and remote pay * A chance to make a real impact — as a smaller, tight-knit company, your contributions are visible and meaningful, andyou’llwork alongside a highly skilled team that takes pride in what they do
