*Experienced Pastry Cooks* Compensation: $19-$22 an hour (based on experience) + weekly tip out + health benefits after 3 months of full time employment Location: Agora - 921 Queen St. West *Early morning shift - 5:30am start* *www.mamakas.ca/agora/* *Join us at Agora!* We are currently looking to hire one highly motivated, experienced pastry cook with a strong work ethic to match for a full time position. You will be responsible for baking our signature pita breads, koulouri and other pastry items on a daily basis for in store purchase, catering orders and other restaurants within Mamakas Food Group. Full training is provided. This is a high-volume production bakery environment. *Summary of responsibilities:* Reporting to the Pastry Manager, responsibilities and essential job requirements include but are not limited to: * Follow recipes accurately and bake items to perfection * Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage * Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils and equipment * Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards * Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage * Other duties as assigned *Qualifications:* * Previous cooking and/or baking experience required (1 -2 years minimum in a similar environment) * Able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays * Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities * Highly responsible and reliable * Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment * Ability to work cohesively as part of a team and individually as required * Ability to accurately follow recipes with no supervision *Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):* * Constant standing and walking throughout shift * Complete repetitive tasks, such as rolling dough * Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs * Occasional kneeling, pushing and pulling * Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps We look forward to hearing from you!
