The Red River Métis Business Development Corporation (RRMBDC), an affiliate of the Manitoba Métis Federation, strengthens the Red River Métis economy by supporting entrepreneurs and majority-owned businesses through the Red River Métis Business Association. Through business services, networking, procurement opportunities, strategic partnerships, and access to capital, RRMBDC helps Red River Métis businesses start, grow, and succeed. RRMBDC seeks to fill one full-time Bookkeeper position within our growing team located at 333 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Bookkeeper is responsible for the verification, calculation, processing, recording, remitting, and reconciling of finances of an assigned portfolio of Red River Métis businesses. Job Duties/Competencies: * Calculate, prepare and process receipts/invoices for multiple clients; * Review, summarize and reconcile general ledger accounts; * Set up and maintain related client files, both hard copy and computerized; * Ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures and internal controls; * Prepare statistical, financial and account reports; * Reconcile all documentation for client accounts; * Perform peer reviews of client-related files and deliverables to ensure completeness and accuracy. Skills and Qualifications: * Post secondary education in Bookkeeping, Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience; * Minimum three years of experience in full-cycle accounting and office administration is required; previous experience in a public practice accounting or bookkeeping firm is an asset; * Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada (CPB) designation or desire to obtain within the first year; * Experience in Financial Management with proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records; * Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) cloud accounting software with Certification considered an asset; * Extensive experience with maintaining confidential records and files, posting data, and making calculations with speed and accuracy; * Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external members and stakeholders; * Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills; * Acceptable Enhanced Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is required; * Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and RRMBDC programs and services is a definite asset; and, * Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
