The Louis Riel Capital Corporation (LRCC) is a Manitoba Métis Federation-owned financial institution created to provide personal and commercial financial services for Red River Métis Citizens and businesses. LRCC seeks to fill one full-time Controller position located at 333 Main Street in Winnipeg, MB. The Controller is responsible for assisting with and performing various full-cycle accounting functions, financial reporting, and analysis. The salary range for this position is $92,000-$130,000 annually dependent on education and experience combined. Job Duties/Competencies: * Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll; * Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; * Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting; * Manage the month-end and year-end close processes; * Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies; * Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements; * Coordinate audits and act as the primary liaison with external auditors and tax advisors; * Prepare and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses; * Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making; * Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; * Manage cash flow, banking relationships; * Oversee revenue recognition and expense allocation processes; * Support system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements; * Partner with senior leadership to improve financial performance and operational efficiency. Skills and Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline with a CPA Designation is required; * 7 years’ of experience in progressive accounting or finance is required; * Must have experience in a leadership role, overseeing staff and departmental functions; * Experience in public accounting or a regulated environment is an asset; * ERP implementation or system conversion experience an asset; * Extensive experience in drafting correspondence and preparing reports; * Acceptable Enhanced Criminal Record Check and Credit Check is required; * Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills; * Experience working with Boards and/or committees is preferred; * Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, and LRCC programs and services is a definite asset; and, * Ability to travel, valid Manitoba Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle is required.
