We are continuously seeking Senior IT Project Managers with strong project leadership experience, federal government experience, and/or Government of Canada security clearance for current and upcoming opportunities. These positions support major and complex Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) initiatives and may involve full-time, part-time, or as-and-when-required engagements depending on the specific project and client requirements. ________________________________________ Position Summary Maplesoft Group is looking for experienced Senior IT Project Managers to lead and support major and complex IM/IT projects within federal government environments. The successful candidates will bring strong project management, governance, risk management, stakeholder coordination and strategic advisory experience. Candidates do not necessarily need to meet every requirement below; we are interested in professionals whose experience aligns with the requirements and who can demonstrate strong senior-level project management capabilities. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, implementation and delivery of major and complex IM/IT projects. Develop project charters, project management plans, schedules, dashboards and implementation plans. Manage project scope, schedules, costs, resources, risks, issues and dependencies. Develop and maintain risk-management plans, risk registers and mitigation strategies. Establish stakeholder-management, communication and change-control plans. Monitor project milestones, deliverables, quality and performance indicators. Prepare project briefings, dashboards and status reports for senior management. Coordinate multidisciplinary business and technical teams. Identify resource requirements, conflicts, gaps and project interdependencies. Establish and maintain project governance, reporting and document-management processes. Provide strategic advice to senior management regarding project implementation, risks and corrective actions. Support project governance and decision-making processes. Coach project personnel and transfer project-management knowledge to client teams. Maintain project documentation in accordance with applicable federal government and Treasury Board requirements. Support the implementation of project management best practices, methodologies and processes. ________________________________________ Required Qualifications Current Government of Canada Secret clearance. Must be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Top Secret security clearance. 10+ years of experience working in senior project-management roles. Experience leading major and/or complex IT or IM/IT projects. Experience developing project charters, project management plans, schedules, dashboards and other project artefacts. Experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies and mitigation strategies. Experience advising senior management on the implementation and delivery of major projects. Experience developing stakeholder-management and communications plans. Experience coordinating multiple business, technical and/or vendor stakeholders. Experience with project governance, reporting and senior-level presentations. Experience with change-management activities, coaching, training or stakeholder engagement. PMP certification from the Project Management Institute is strongly preferred. University degree or college diploma in Project Management, Commerce, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Information Technology or a related discipline; equivalent progressive IT/project-management experience may also be considered. Ability to provide the required residency history for federal government security screening. Ability to work primarily onsite within the National Capital Region when required. ________________________________________ Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working directly within a federal government environment. Experience supporting or establishing a Project Management Office (PMO). Experience with both Agile and traditional project-delivery methodologies. Experience with Treasury Board project governance, documentation and reporting requirements. Experience delivering large-scale digital transformation, technology modernization or enterprise IM/IT initiatives. Experience working with senior executives and multiple levels of government stakeholders.
