Company Description Mara Surgical Centre is a specialized multidisciplinary medical practice located at 704 Mara Street in Point Edward, Ontario, Canada. The centre focuses on delivering safe, high-quality surgical and post-surgical care in a modern clinical environment. Team members work closely with plastic surgeons and other healthcare professionals to support patients through their surgical journeys. The practice emphasizes patient safety, comfort, and privacy, while maintaining efficient, well-coordinated clinical operations. Role Description The Post Anesthesia Care Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care in the recovery room immediately following surgical procedures. This casual, on-site role in Point Edward, ON includes monitoring patients’ vital signs, assessing pain and level of consciousness, and responding promptly to changes in clinical status. The nurse administers medications as ordered, manages post-anesthesia side effects, and ensures safe transitions from the operating room to recovery and onward discharge or transfer. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists, documenting assessments and interventions, educating patients and families about post-operative care, and adhering to evidence-based protocols and infection prevention standards. Qualifications Strong clinical foundation in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to deliver safe, patient-centered care in a surgical setting. Demonstrated expertise in Post Anesthesia Care and Recovery Room nursing, including monitoring and managing post-operative patients. Experience or training in Critical Care Medicine, especially in recognizing and responding to acute changes in patient conditions. Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ontario and CPR/BLS certification; ACLS certification required. Previous experience in perioperative, PACU, ICU, or emergency nursing is a requirement. Excellent assessment, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to patient safety, infection control practices, and continuous professional development.
