Role Description The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is a full-time, on-site/service role based in Abbotsford, BC. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing a variety of heavy equipment and vehicles used in civil construction projects. Day-to-day tasks include performing scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and completing accurate service records. The mechanic will work closely with site supervisors and operators to minimize equipment downtime, ensure safe operation, and support project timelines. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean and organized work area, following safety procedures, and participating in continuous improvement of maintenance practices. Qualifications Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance, including preventive service and routine inspections. Demonstrated ability in Equipment Repair and Heavy Equipment service, including mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Proficiency in Troubleshooting to diagnose complex equipment issues and recommend effective repair solutions. 10+ years of experience in the above skills Relevant technical training or certification in heavy-duty mechanics or automotive service (Red Seal or equivalent is an asset). Experience working with construction or industrial equipment in a shop or field environment. Ability to read and interpret service manuals, technical drawings, and diagnostic reports. Commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of tools, PPE, and adherence to company safety policies. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license; ability to operate service vehicles and, if required, travel between job sites in the Fraser Valley. ___________________________________________________________________ Thank you for your interest in MAREX Constructors Ltd.
