Senior Manger, Security Operations & Business Development Date posted: August 11, 2026 Pay: CA$65,000.00-CA$75,000.00 per year Job description: Position Summary The Senior Manager, Security Operations & Business Development is responsible for leading and developing Maritect's security guard division while supporting the company's continued growth. The successful candidate will build and maintain a professional, highly trained, well-equipped security workforce through leadership, coaching, operational oversight, quality assurance, client-focused service delivery, and strategic business development. This position requires a hands-on leader who is equally comfortable visiting sites, supporting employees, meeting with clients, conducting training, and pursuing new business opportunities. Key Responsibilities Security Operations Leadership Oversee day-to-day security operations. Support site supervisors and security personnel. Ensure all contracts are delivered professionally and in accordance with client expectations. Conduct regular site visits throughout service areas. Monitor service quality and identify opportunities for improvement. Assist with scheduling, staffing, and operational planning. Respond to incidents, employee concerns, and client issues when required. Participate in after-hours support and on-call responsibilities. Training & Employee Development Develop and maintain Maritect's guard training program. Coordinate new employee orientation and onboarding. Conduct site-specific training and refresher training. Coach and mentor supervisors and guards. Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback. Identify training gaps and implement improvement plans. Maintain training and competency records. Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement. Client Relations & Service Excellence Maintain strong relationships with existing clients. Conduct regular client check-ins and service reviews. Assist in resolving client concerns and service issues. Develop site assignment briefs and post orders. Ensure guards receive appropriate information before deployment. Support contract start-ups, transitions, and special events. Conduct post-event and post-incident reviews. Quality Assurance & Compliance Conduct site audits and operational inspections. Monitor report quality and documentation standards. Investigate service concerns and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with provincial licensing requirements and company policies. Maintain employee certification and training records. Support tender and contract compliance requirements. Equipment & Uniform Management Oversee security equipment and uniform inventories. Ensure guards have the tools and equipment required for their assignments. Manage equipment sign-out and accountability procedures. Recommend equipment purchases and operational improvements. Ensure uniforms and professional appearance standards are maintained. Business Development & Growth Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Conduct client meetings and site assessments. Participate in networking events and industry functions. Assist with proposal preparation and tender opportunities. Develop relationships with decision-makers within target industries. Work collaboratively with senior leadership to grow the business. Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients. Due to the nature of a leadership role in a growing organization, the successful candidate may be required to undertake additional duties, projects, or responsibilities not specifically outlined in this job posting. These duties will be reasonably related to the position and assigned in accordance with operational and business requirements. Qualifications Required Minimum 5 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, emergency services, loss prevention, or related field. Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience. Strong leadership and team-building skills. Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities. Experience working directly with clients and stakeholders. Valid Nova Scotia Security Guard License (or ability to obtain). Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and report writing. Preferred Experience managing multiple sites and personnel. Business development or sales experience. Experience preparing proposals or participating in tender processes. Healthcare, event security, industrial, or labour dispute security experience. Training certifications such as: MOAB CPI IAHSS First Aid/CPR Occupational Health & Safety Training Salary & Compensation Salary range: $65,000K - 75,000K per year. The salary offered will reflect the successful candidate's experience, qualifications, leadership ability, and industry background.
