Senior Accountant – Full Cycle Accounting and Bookkeeping For over a decade, Markstone has been the local leader in professional landscaping. Our success comes from our people. We are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant to co-own the day-to-day accounting function and ensure our financials are accurate, complete, and current. Reporting to the CFO, this role is responsible for full-cycle accounting, with a strong focus on monthly and year-end close, reconciliations, and maintaining clean, reliable financial records. This is an execution-focused role for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working through issues to get things right. Key Responsibilities Full Cycle Accounting Perform full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and consistently Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records Month-End & Year-End Close Lead and complete the monthly close process on a timely basis Support year-end close and preparation of working papers Ensure all balances are accurate and properly supported Reconciliations Perform regular bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations Investigate and resolve discrepancies Maintain clear supporting documentation and audit trails Invoicing & Revenue Accuracy Ensure invoices are issued accurately and on time Reconcile revenue to underlying activity and identify any issues Work with internal teams to resolve discrepancies Financial Review & Analysis Review financial results for accuracy and consistency Identify unusual items or variances and investigate root causes Support basic reporting and provide insights where needed Job costing analysis Process & Organization Keep accounting processes structured, consistent, and well-documented Identify opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency Help maintain a clean and reliable accounting foundation Qualifications Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred) 3–5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience (required) Strong experience with month-end close and reconciliations Experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) Strong Excel skills Experience with job costing (preferred) High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks Ability to work in a fast paced environment Job Details Job Type: Full-time Salary: $80,000 – $85,000 per year Location: In-office Experience Requirements Full Cycle Accounting: 3+ years (required) Month-End Close: 3+ years (required) Reconciliations: 3+ years (required)

The Senior Accountant will manage full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and monthly/year-end closing processes. They are also responsible for performing reconciliations, ensuring revenue accuracy, and providing financial analysis to support the CFO.

Candidates must have 3–5 years of full-cycle accounting experience and a diploma or degree in Accounting or Finance. Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and strong Excel skills are required, along with a high level of attention to detail.
