Position Summary Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Working Hardscape Supervisor leads a landscape construction crew while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day work. This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who can direct a team, manage a job site, and still roll up their sleeves alongside the crew. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with solid construction experience and is comfortable balancing hands-on work with crew oversight. Key Responsibilities Crew Leadership & Site Management Lead and work alongside a landscape construction crew on a daily basis Assign and prioritize daily tasks, ensuring efficient and accurate execution Actively participate in construction work alongside the crew, not just direct from the sidelines Train, mentor, and support the development of crew members Construction & Quality Control Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and grading/hardscape drawings Execute and oversee landscape construction work including hardscaping, grading, planting, and related site work Ensure work meets Markstone's quality standards and client specifications Identify and resolve on-site issues, escalating to the Operations Manager as needed Scheduling & Materials Coordinate daily crew schedules and job sequencing on-site Track material and equipment needs and communicate shortages proactively Ensure equipment and tools are used, maintained, and stored properly Safety & Compliance Enforce safety protocols and ensure crew compliance with site safety requirements Conduct or support daily safety talks/toolbox meetings Report incidents, hazards, or safety concerns promptly Communication & Reporting Communicate job progress, delays, and site conditions to the Operations Manager Liaise professionally with clients or site contacts as needed Complete daily job site documentation as required Qualifications 4+ years' experience in landscape construction, with prior experience leading or supervising a crew Strong knowledge of hardscaping, grading, planting, and general site construction practices Ability to read and interpret site plans and drawings Valid driver's license required Ability to operate heavy/light equipment Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working outdoors and staying hands-on in physically demanding tasks Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $75,000–$80,000, based on experience Company car and cell phone provided Opportunities for growth and advancement within a fast-growing company Supportive, team-oriented workplace environment Job Type: Full-time Work Location: In person – Burlington, ON
