The Outside sales representative - Applied HVAC, consulting engineering will be actively involved in the operational process of sales to both generate and boost equipment sales. This person must support the consulting engineers, select air conditioning, ventilation, and heating equipment, and support the sales team from the preliminary project through the end of the sales process. He/she will be responsible for proactively promoting the company and all the products it supports in the HVAC-R industry. What you will accomplish with us: Building relationships in the HVAC-R industry. Drive business growth by identifying, qualifying, and influencing project opportunities from concept through execution. Visit customers, engineering firms, and project sites weekly to provide technical expertise and strengthen market presence. Collaborate with consulting engineers to select and specify industry-leading HVAC equipment in project designs. Ensure company-supported solutions are specified and positioned early in the project lifecycle to maximize market success. Analyze and qualify the projects that will be submitted by the internal team. Check and participate in preparing product equivalence tables. Promote equipment supported by the company (equipment, ventilation, and heating). Act as a leader and coach for the internal support and estimation team. Take ownership of the sales cycle from opportunity identification to project award and post-sale support. Develop and submit equipment budget pricing and pre-purchase proposals for major construction projects. Create and review technical drawings and engineered solutions as required. Continuously enhance product knowledge through training, industry events, and manufacturer programs. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and follow-up actions using CRM software. Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to maintain a competitive edge. Act as a trusted advisor to customers, delivering solutions that create long-term value and business success. What You Bring to Our Team: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems Engineering, HVAC, or a related technical field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales, applications engineering, HVAC project management, or a customer-facing engineering role. Proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence decision-makers across consulting engineering firms, contractors, owners, and industry partners. Established network within the HVAC-R, construction, or building technologies industry is considered a strong asset. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, take initiative, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical expertise and business objectives. Passion for developing customer relationships and creating long-term value through consultative selling. Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences. Natural leadership abilities with a collaborative approach to coaching, mentoring, and influencing cross-functional teams. Self-driven, highly organized, and motivated by achieving ambitious growth objectives. Comfortable managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously. Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales pipeline management tools. Bilingualism (French and English) is considered a strong asset. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory. Valid passport and ability to travel internationally when require.
