MATRIX is looking for an experienced Yard & Expediting Coordinator who is team-oriented, motivated, safety-minded, and detail-focused. This role will play a key part at our Yellowknife shop by supporting yard organization, asset inventory, freight preparation, expediting services, equipment operation, and the general upkeep and readiness of the yard, shop, and company assets. This position reports to the Northern Operations Manager. Job Description: Maintain the organization, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness of the yard, shop, common areas, equipment, and storage areas. Track, maintain, and organize the company’s inventory of assets, equipment, supplies, and materials stored internally and externally. Assist with the inspection, proofing, tagging, maintenance, and repair coordination of assets as they come into or leave the shop. Load and unload trucks and trailers safely and efficiently, ensuring proper handling, placement, and securement of materials and equipment. Operate company equipment as required, including telehandler, loader, forklift, and other yard equipment, following safe work practices. Support expediting duties, including company errands, pickups, deliveries, supply runs, airport and hotel transportation, and other operational support as required. Operate company vehicles for expediting services and transportation of employees, supplies, tools, equipment, and materials as needed. Coordinate with the Expeditor and Buyer on freight handling, shipment preparation, pickups, deliveries, and movement of materials. Communicate with the Operations and Logistics Manager to confirm daily priorities, yard requirements, shipment needs, and operational support tasks. Monitor yard supplies, identify maintenance or repair needs, and communicate issues requiring follow-up. Perform other related yard, expediting, equipment, and operational support duties as assigned. Preparing Loads for air freight, loading and manifesting cargo and passenger flights. Job Requirements: A desire and willingness to work as a reliable team member who is flexible and adaptable to changing priorities Self-motivated, and takes pride in the job at hand Requires the ability to take initiative, work independently, and support safe and efficient operations Must be dependable and responsible Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented Able to effectively communicate verbal and written Strong Mechanical aptitude would be an asset Computer literacy and experience with MS Office Preferred Licensing & Certifications: First Aid Certification. TDG – Ground and air. WHIMS Certification. Certified to operate a forklift Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driver abstract Previous experience working in a yard, warehouse, logistics, expediting, or equipment support environment would be an asset
