We are looking for engineers who want to see their ideas and innovations become the products that define the next generation of computing. Successful candidates will have experience in the end-to-end product development cycle from concept ideation and requirements discovery to product launch and production (we’ll help you come up to speed on the quantum side of things). Responsibilities Design and development of Maybell products from the ground up Ideate system and sub-system concepts and perform trade-off analysis to determine the best solutions. Translate high level customer needs into product and technical requirements and use them to drive design decisions. Create complex mechanical designs, drawings and documentation for parts and assemblies following DFX principles to develop the most efficient and high-quality products. Maintain ownership over sub-system development and sustaining activities including project and resource planning, gathering of documentation and requirements, and execution of ECOs. Work closely with manufacturing and operations to ensure a smooth transition from concept to a fully scalable high-quality products Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering field, or equivalent experience 10-15 years of working experience in a mechanical design role, preferably with capital equipment and machine design Exceptional CAD and product documentation skills Experience with designing machined components, sheet metal and weldments with an emphasis on DFM Self-starter with ability to drive results independently Demonstrated ability to bring complex products from concept to production Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to adapt and perform in a fast paced and dynamic organization. Desired Qualifications Experience in Ansys or equivalent analysis software Working knowledge of the ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing standard Experience working with product safety standards (NRTL and CE) Strong hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures. Machine shop and fabrication skills A strong understanding of software and electrical systems to inform design decisions and product architectures Base salary $130,000/yr - $160,000/yr
