Jr. Technologist/EIT - Building Asset Management

McCuaig & Associates Engineering Ltd. is currently seeking a Jr. Technologist/EIT to join our Asset Management Department at our Calgary, AB office. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years of technical building science and project management experience and has a keen interest in the field of asset management. Key Responsibilities: * Assist Project Engineers and Project Managers in the following Asset Management projects: * Condition Assessments * Capital and Maintenance Planning * Depreciation Reports / Reserve Fund Studies * Feasibility Studies * Perform site reviews / field investigation * Review of drawings, specifications and other relevant technical and financial document * Perform quantity takeoffs / estimating * Develop budgets and cash flows * Research building materials and maintain and update internal templates, database and library * Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other specialty consultants as necessary * Attend client meetings Skills and Qualifications: * Registered or eligible to register as an AScT with ASET or EIT/P.Eng. with APEGA * Strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills * Excellent attention to detail and strong work ethic * Technically proficient in Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Autodesk Revit/CAD an asset * Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities * Effective project management skills and experience * Relevant building science and construction industry related experience * Working knowledge of building codes, ASHRAE 90.1, NEBC, and relevant standards * Ability to travel * Ability to work at heights * Valid Driver’s License Please note that all candidates must be willing to undergo personnel security screening (similar to a criminal record check). Assist Project Engineers and Managers with asset management projects including condition assessments, capital planning, and feasibility studies. Perform site reviews, quantity takeoffs, and maintain internal technical databases while liaising with clients and contractors.

Requires 1-2 years of technical building science experience and eligibility for AScT or EIT/P.Eng registration. Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, and Revit/CAD is expected, along with a valid driver's license and ability to work at heights.
