Role Description The Construction Documentation Photographer / Reality Capture Technician – Contract is a full-time, on-site role based in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This role is responsible for visually documenting construction sites using photography, video, and reality capture technologies (such as 360° cameras and/or 3D scanning tools) to create accurate records of project progress and conditions. Day-to-day tasks include traveling to assigned job sites, capturing high-quality images and footage, organizing and labeling files, and uploading content to project management or cloud storage platforms. The role also involves coordinating with project managers and clients to understand documentation requirements, following safety protocols on-site, and ensuring all deliverables meet quality and consistency standards. The technician may assist in basic post-processing, preparing visual reports, and maintaining equipment in good working condition. Qualifications Construction documentation and reality capture skills, including site photography, 360° imaging, and familiarity with 3D scanning or similar technologies. Technical proficiency with cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting, and basic photo/video editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere, or equivalent). Strong file management and organizational skills for labeling, archiving, and sharing large volumes of visual assets in digital workflows. Ability to interpret project requirements, follow shot lists, and communicate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and clients. Knowledge of construction environments, basic building terminology, and on-site safety practices; prior experience on job sites is beneficial. Reliable transportation to travel between locations within the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and flexibility to work around site schedules. High attention to detail, ability to work independently, and commitment to meeting deadlines and quality standards. Relevant education or training in photography, videography, media production, or a related field is preferred but not required.
