The Opportunity: Senior Director, Finance & Operations (Canada) Our client is entering the Canadian oncology market and establishing their Canadian affiliate, creating a unique opportunity for oncology leaders to help build the organization from the ground up. As a member of the Canadian Leadership Team, this individual will work closely with the GM and leadership colleagues to build and lead their function, shape the organization, culture, and capabilities for long-term success. Reporting to the Vice-President & General Manager, Canada, with a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer, this individual will serve as the senior Finance and Operations leader for the Canadian business. The role will be responsible for establishing the financial infrastructure, processes and operational capabilities required to support the organization’s growth and future product launches in Canada. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Canadian Leadership Team, working closely with local and global partners across Finance, Commercial, Human Resources, Legal, IT and Supply Chain. This role requires strong biopharmaceutical finance experience, operational leadership and the ability to move between strategic planning and hands-on execution. Key Responsibilities • Lead the Finance and key operational functions for the Canadian affiliate • Oversee accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, payroll, procurement and internal controls • Lead Canadian budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning and P&L management • Provide financial guidance to the General Manager and Canadian Leadership Team • Support commercial planning, market access strategy, pricing and launch preparation • Establish financial processes, policies, controls and reporting for the Canadian organization • Partner with global Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Human Resources, Legal and IT teams • Lead Canadian financial audits and support tax, transfer pricing and intercompany requirements • Support the establishment of the Canadian commercial distribution model and order-to-cash processes • Provide operational support across supply chain, logistics, inventory and international trade • Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, suppliers, distributors and other vendors • Support the development of scalable Finance and Operations processes as the Canadian organization grows Requirements • Education required; MBA, CPA, CA or CFA designation preferred • 10+ years of finance experience within a public global biopharmaceutical company • Previous experience leading Finance for a Canadian affiliate • Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, P&L management and financial reporting • Experience supporting the establishment or growth of a Canadian pharmaceutical or biotechnology operation • Experience working with commercial teams on business planning, market access and pricing • Experience with supply chain management and logistics in a local and global environment • Experience working with third-party logistics providers is preferred • Strong financial analysis, business judgment and problem-solving skills • Experience leading cross-functional projects and working with global teams Leadership Capabilities • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution • Strong financial and operational judgment • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver against business objectives • Collaborative approach with strong cross-functional leadership skills • Results-focused and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment • Strong project management, communication and organizational skills • High level of ownership, initiative and accountability
