The Opportunity: The insurance business isn’t just about claims - it’s about relationships too. No one wants to be in a situation where they are sick or injured and require time off work, but sometimes the unexpected happens. As the Bilingual Case Management Coordinator you will be part of the team responsible for the set up and maintenance of disability claims. Specifically, you will be gathering information used to assess applications for disability benefits as well as the ongoing maintenance of disability files. This position requires communication with all stakeholders, high attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task. We currently have positions open for candidates that can work a 7.5 hour shift, Monday through to Friday, between the hours of 8:00am-6:00pm. Key Responsibilities: * Set up new claim applications accurately, following various processes while adhering to the client’s standards and service expectations * Ensure all administrative duties are correctly performed, and claim details are input accurately. * Completion of each step of documented processes for new claims, claim closures and CPP/QPP applications; * Respond to inquiries related to Life and Disability claims. (this includes handling incoming calls, emails, and faxes) * System set up and input of data in each of the claims management and payment systems; * Accurately managing financial responsibilities related to administering income replacement benefits such as benefit calculations, benefit offsets and benefit payments; and * Prepare letters to follow-up for required information from both internal and external stakeholders. Proofreading for errors. * Follow-up with medical clinics for required medical information and any other information deemed necessary for the claim Qualifications: * Education: Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience. * Work Experience: Minimum six months experience in an administrative role, preferably in a health care or health service setting. Customer service experience is also preferred. * Knowledge of medical terminology and/or experience as a medical secretary would be considered an asset. * High attention to detail. * Comfortable being on the phone. * Strong customer service focus. * Ability to complete financial calculations using tools provided. * Computer Skills: Excellent computer skills with superior knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products. * Language Skills: Bilingualism (English and French) is mandatory for this position. #CBM1 This posting is for a newly created position within our organization. Pay Range: 40,254 - 45,285 CAD The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs. Payments under these programs are discretionary and subject to both individual and organizational results.
