# Job Posting: Registered Pharmacy Technician (Community Pharmacy) **Location:** Huron Church, Windsor, ON **Position Type:** Full-Time / Part-Time **Reports To:** Pharmacy Manager / Designated Pharmacist ## Position Summary The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy Windsor Westgate plaza is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented **Registered Pharmacy Technician** to join our independent community pharmacy team. In this role, you will work closely with our pharmacists to deliver exceptional patient care, optimize dispensary workflows, and maintain a highly organized inventory system. The ideal candidate takes pride in technical accuracy, possesses strong communication skills, and thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. ## Key Responsibilities ### Technical & Dispensary Operations * **Prescription Preparation:** Count, measure, and package medications accurately using advanced pharmacy software. * **Compliance Packaging:** Organize, fill, and check compliance packaging (blister packs) for chronic care patients. * **Workflow Management:** Manage the intake window, retrieve medication stock, and prepare labels following established standard operating procedures. ### Patient Care & Customer Service * **Intake & Drop-off:** Greet patients, receive new prescriptions, and verify complete patient demographics and allergy profiles. * **Collaboration:** Answer telephone inquiries efficiently, managing administrative questions and routing clinical questions directly to the pharmacist. * **Release of Medications:** Confirm patient identity at pickup and ensure the pharmacist provides necessary clinical counseling. ### Third-Party Billing & Administration * **Insurance Navigation:** Submit and adjudicate claims through provincial (ODB) and private third-party insurance plans. * **Problem Solving:** Resolve billing errors, prior authorization rejections, and coordination of benefits issues. * **Record Keeping:** Maintain meticulous documentation for narcotics, controlled substances, and provincial regulatory compliance. ### Inventory & Stock Management * **Stock Procurement:** Monitor inventory levels daily, place wholesaler orders, and receive incoming stock. * **Quality Control:** Check for expired medications, manage drug recalls, and return overstock items to suppliers. * **Merchandising:** Ensure front-shop and OTC shelves are clean, accurately priced, and properly rotated. ## Qualifications & Requirements * **Licensure:** Active registration in good standing as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP). * **Education:** Graduate of an CCAPP-accredited Pharmacy Technician diploma program. * **Experience:** 1–2 years of experience in a community or retail pharmacy setting is strongly preferred. We appreciate years of experience! * **Technical Skills:** Proficiency with major pharmacy management systems ( Propel Rx experience is an asset ) * **Soft Skills:** Exceptional verbal communication, a welcoming customer-first attitude, strong mathematical calculations, and acute attention to detail. Exigences

Candidates must be a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists and a graduate of a CCAPP-accredited program. 1-2 years of community pharmacy experience and proficiency with pharmacy management systems are strongly preferred.
