Détails du poste
Pharmacy Assistant, Front Dispensary Full time, permanent | Hamilton area, on site | $22.00 to $26.00 per hour | Employer-paid benefits High-volume retail dispensary work in a pharmacy that is nothing like a typical retail pharmacy. About the employer Our client is a growing specialty compounding pharmacy in the Hamilton area. Alongside a busy retail dispensary, they run compliance packaging, a compounding lab, and a shipping operation that serves patients well beyond the local community. The team is small, long-tenured and genuinely close, and several people have been there the better part of a decade. They are hiring because the business has grown faster than the team, not because anyone left in a hurry. The front dispensary is the busiest part of the operation. Volume runs into the hundreds and thousands of prescriptions a day, so this is a role for someone who is quick, accurate and comfortable working at pace without losing their footing. What you will be doing Prescription intake, data entry and dispensing support in a high-volume workflow. Serving patients at the counter and by phone, with questions requiring clinical judgment referred to the pharmacist. Third-party adjudication and troubleshooting: ODB, Trillium, private and secondary plans, rejections and reversals. Maintaining accurate patient profiles, insurance records and documentation. Inventory support: receiving, stocking, checking expiries and flagging shortages. Supporting the compliance packaging and shipping teams during peak periods. What we are looking for Recent, hands-on experience as a pharmacy assistant or technician in a community, retail or long-term care dispensary. Working knowledge of Ontario third-party drug plan adjudication, including ODB and Trillium, and confidence resolving rejected claims without hand-holding. Proficiency with a Canadian community pharmacy dispensary system. Kroll is used here and is strongly preferred; Fillware, Nexxsys, HealthWatch or similar will be considered. Demonstrated ability to work at genuine volume. If your current role runs 30 to 40 prescriptions a day, this environment will feel very different, and we will talk that through with you honestly. Accuracy under pressure and a track record of reliable attendance. Comfort with a close, informal team where people speak plainly and cover for one another. Nice to have Compliance and blister packaging experience. Exposure to compounding, even at an assistant level. Registration or in-progress registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. Hours and schedule Monday to Friday, within pharmacy operating hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday rotation of 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., approximately once every six to eight weeks, beginning only once you are fully trained and working independently. No evenings. Compensation and benefits $22.00 to $26.00 per hour, depending on experience. Health and dental benefits, fully paid by the employer with no employee premium contribution. Standard eligibility is after the three-month probationary period; earlier access is negotiable for the right candidate. Paid lunch breaks. You are on site for 8.5 hours and paid for 8. Free parking on site. Two weeks of vacation after one year. If you currently receive more, tell us and we will raise it in the offer conversation. Conditions of employment Three-month probationary period. You may not hold concurrent employment at another pharmacy while employed here. All employees sign a confidentiality agreement. The employer develops proprietary formulations and protects them accordingly. Satisfactory professional references. How to apply Apply through MediFlex Talent Solutions. We will review your application, speak with you directly about the role and the employer, and introduce you to our client only with your consent. The employer's name is shared during that conversation, not before. If you are currently employed, your search stays confidential.
