We believe that our greatest opportunity is to create opportunity and meet people where they are. Join Meridian as a Securitization Reporting & Insights Specialist and become a key contributor in monitoring, analyzing and strengthening the credit portfolio, through the lens of securitization parameters. In this dynamic role, you will be at the forefront of tracking and analyzing credit-based rules and limits applied to the residential mortgage portfolio, ensuring comprehensive oversight and actionable intelligence. Your responsibilities will centre on credit portfolio monitoring—identifying trends, recognizing data gaps, and recommending improvements to enhance portfolio quality and resilience. As part of the Credit Reporting & Analytics team, you will manage complex securitization reporting, develop sophisticated dashboards, and deliver insights that shape funding strategies across multi-billion-dollar programs. Leveraging your expertise in SQL, Power BI, data analytics, and technical skills, you will collaborate with Credit and Treasury leaders as well as external partners to maintain compliance, optimize portfolio performance, and drive innovation. If you are a CPA or CFA with a passion for problem-solving and a deep understanding of credit risk, this is your opportunity to make a substantial impact at one of Canada’s premier financial institutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Continuously monitor the residential mortgage portfolio, identifying emerging credit risks and recognizing opportunities for improvement through detailed analysis of data gaps and trends. * Maintain and update NHA MBS data tapes for all securitization programs, working closely with Treasury partners to ensure accurate and timely credit portfolio data. * Prepare and deliver securitization reporting (CMHC Appendix B, CMHC E2), focusing on credit portfolio eligibility and compliance. * Oversee program performance dashboards to track mortgage eligibility, analyse ineligible loans, and recommend remediation strategies based on credit insights. * Serve as the primary liaison for Treasury reporting requests, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and insightful credit portfolio information. * Ensure compliance with all securitization reporting requirements, emphasizing robust credit portfolio monitoring. * Conduct trend analysis and scenario modelling to forecast credit portfolio performance and reinvestment needs, providing predictive analytics for liquidity and funding strategies. * Perform asset-level reviews, due diligence, and validate data integrity for CMHC and investor reporting, supporting strong credit governance. * Develop automation scripts in Python to enhance reporting efficiency and facilitate exploratory analysis of credit portfolio data. * Lead enhancements to SQL-based data architecture to support high-performance monitoring and analysis of large credit portfolios. * Provide insights for strategic initiatives, including new securitization structures and funding vehicles, informed by deep credit portfolio knowledge. Data Management & Regulatory Reporting * Materially enhance the quality of data points captured within the credit portfolio, supporting securitization requirements. * Maintain and update NHA MBS data tapes for all securitization programs. * Prepare and deliver mandatory reports (CMHC Appendix B, CMHC E2 report). * Validate data integrity for CMHC and investor reporting. Performance Monitoring & Analysis * Update and monitor program performance dashboards. * Identify eligible mortgages and analyze ineligible mortgages to recommend remediation strategies. * Perform trend analysis on mortgage eligibility and present insights to senior leadership. Treasury Liaison & Governance * Act as lead liaison for Treasury reporting requests. * Ensure compliance with OSFI, FSRA, and internal standards. * Prepare documentation for internal audit and regulatory bodies. Advanced Modeling & Strategic Support * Model securitization transactions and forecast reinvestment needs. * Perform cash-flow modeling and scenario analysis for funding strategies. * Support Treasury in capital adequacy and ICAAP reporting. Technology & Automation * Develop automation scripts in Python for reporting efficiency. * Build customized Power BI dashboards and leverage advanced Excel for analysis. * Enhance SQL-based data architecture for large datasets. Qualifications: * Undergraduate degree specializing in accounting, finance, or a STEM-related discipline. * CPA or CFA designation. * 3–5 years in securitization or treasury roles within a large financial institution. * Advanced SQL query development skills. * Python programming for automation and analytics (asset). * Expert knowledge of building customized Power BI dashboards (or similar BI tools). * Advanced Excel skills for complex analysis and modeling. * Knowledge of CMHC securitization programs (NHA MBS, CMB), OSFI capital adequacy guidelines, and governance frameworks. * Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to communicate complex insights clearly to senior stakeholders. * Comfort learning and adopting new digital tools, with an openness to using AI‑enabled technology to enhance productivity, accuracy, and the Member experience.
