M&A Investment Banking Associate Location: Toronto An elite boutique investment bank is seeking an experienced M&A Associate to join its Generalist Advisory team in Toronto. This market-leading advisory platform has an outstanding reputation for advising on many of the region's most high-profile and complex transactions. Backed by deep institutional relationships and a strong pipeline of M&A and strategic advisory mandates, the team offers an exceptional opportunity to work on landmark deals while gaining exposure to a broad range of industries and clients. As an Associate, you will play a key role in both the origination and execution of transactions, working closely with senior bankers and clients throughout the deal lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Support the origination and execution of new advisory mandates, with a focus on M&A transactions. Take ownership of key workstreams across live transactions, managing projects from initial engagement through to successful completion. Develop and maintain strong client relationships while serving as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders during transaction execution. Prepare and review complex financial models, valuation analyses, pitch books, marketing materials, and client presentations. Mentor and support Analysts and other junior team members, ensuring high-quality execution and professional development. Partner closely with senior bankers to deliver exceptional client service and contribute to business development initiatives. Requirements Associate-level candidate with: At least 3 years of investment banking or M&A advisory experience without an MBA; or A minimum of 1 year of relevant investment banking experience following completion of an MBA. Previous experience gained at a leading investment bank or top-tier financial institution. Bachelor's degree or MBA in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline. Strong financial modelling, valuation, analytical, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams independently while collaborating effectively within a high-performing team. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills, with a client-focused approach.
