You can learn more about us on our website: www.metrocompactor.com [http://www.metrocompactor.com/] Overview A Welder is involved in custom fabrication and welding tasks primarily for waste and recycling equipment. With a focus on accuracy and precision, the role involves referring to blueprints and utilizing a variety of measuring tools. In addition, our welder/fitters contribute to refurbishing projects for various equipment. This role will primarily work with Black Steel (Mild Carbon) of different gauges (10,12,14) and plates (3/16", 1/4", 3/8"). Occasional welding tasks include working with round bars and pipes of similar thickness. The welding tasks range from 1-inch stitches to continuous weld beads spanning several feet. Location: This role will work from our Production Shop. Work Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Salary Range: $24-$28 per hour Bonus: This position is eligible to receive an incentive award targeted at 5% of the base salary. Responsibilities * Manufacture and repair waste and recycling equipment using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding and torch cutting techniques. * Layout, position, and secure parts and assemblies as per given specifications. * Utilize a variety of hand and power tools for fabrication processes. * Interpret and construct based on shop drawings. * Manage lifting of materials and components up to 50 pounds. * Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as contribute to team efforts. * Perform other duties as required. * Qualifications * Proven MIG Welding Experience. * Strong proficiency in blueprint interpretation. * Experience in fitting operations. * Comfortable with a variety of hand and power tools. * Skill in reading and interpreting measuring tape. * Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds. * Torch Cutting and Forklift operation experience preferred but not mandatory.
