Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Machinery installation. Maintenance. Repair. Overhaul. Machine set-up. Tasks: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions. Repair or replace defective machinery parts. Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up. Estimate costs and materials. Perform routine maintenance work on machinery. Operate machining tools to fabricate parts. Program programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Installing machinery and equipment. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement. Welder Trade Certification. Forklift Operator Certification. Welding techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Automated and robotic system. Conveyor. Gas compressors. Hydraulic system. Industrial and stationary engine. Lathes and other machining tools. Pneumatic system. Power transmission system. Pumps and compressors. Welding equipment. Area of specialization: Bearing, seals and packing. Specialty welding. Stainless steel welding. Laser levelling/aligning. Computerized alignment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Standing for extended periods. Work under pressure.
