The radiologist is responsible for diagnosing diseases and physiological disorders and prescribing appropriate treatments. They may also conduct medical research, prepare research papers, and act as consultants to other physicians.

Candidates must hold a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry with a specialization in diagnostic radiology. Provincial or territorial licensure and 2 to 3 years of experience are required.
