As the Bilingual Corporate Relations Director, Canada, you will lead government relations, public affairs, communications, and stakeholder engagement strategies to strengthen the organization's reputation and support business growth. Working closely with senior leadership, you will help shape the external operating environment, influence policy discussions, and advance key corporate and sustainability priorities across Canada. Description Reporting to the North American Corporate Relations leadership team, the Corporate Relations Director, Canada will be responsible for developing and executing the Corporate Relations strategy across Canada. This role plays a critical part in shaping the policy, regulatory, and reputational environment in which the business operates. Acting as a trusted advisor to the Canadian leadership team, the successful candidate will lead initiatives across government affairs, public policy, corporate communications, sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management. Develop and execute a comprehensive Corporate Relations strategy aligned with business objectives. Lead the organization's government affairs and public policy agenda across Canada. Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, regulators, industry associations, customers, NGOs, and other key stakeholders. Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and provide strategic advice to leadership on emerging opportunities and risks. Lead external communications, media relations, executive communications, and reputation management initiatives. Develop and manage crisis communication and issues management strategies. Drive sustainability and social impact programs that reinforce the organization's purpose and values. Partner closely with Canadian and North American leadership teams to support commercial priorities and long-term business growth. Represent the company at industry forums, stakeholder engagements, and public-facing events. Lead and develop a high-performing Corporate Relations function while influencing key stakeholders across a matrix organization. Profile The ideal candidate is an experienced Bilingual (EN/FR) Corporate Relations professional with a strong track record of influencing public policy, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and advising senior business leaders in dynamic and highly regulated environments. Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Affairs, Communications, Business, Law, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in Corporate Relations, Government Relations, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Corporate Communications, or related disciplines. Proven experience working within a multinational organization, highly regulated industry, consulting firm, agency, trade association, or government environment. Strong knowledge of Canadian government affairs, regulatory frameworks, and public policy landscapes. Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic business outcomes. Experience leading corporate communications, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement programs. Excellent understanding of issues management and crisis communications. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align external engagement strategies with business priorities. Experience working within complex, matrixed organizations. Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
