MineralsEd is currently searching for a Program Coordinator to join our team in Vancouver! The Program Coordinator plays a key role in coordinating, marketing, and delivering MineralsEd’s program offerings and initiatives within schools across British Columbia. Working alongside the Executive Director, Program Manager, and a network of Partner-Teachers, the successful candidate will help bring geoscience education to classrooms and communities across BC. This position requires a dynamic, flexible, and adaptive individual who thrives in hands-on work and is comfortable applying a variety of skill sets on a day-to-day basis within a small, busy educational organisation. This is a hybrid role, with 4 days in our Vancouver office, and includes occasional travel to other parts of the province to support programming. What You Will Be Doing Coordinate the planning and delivery of MineralsEd's in-class programs, including our flagship Junior Geologist program. Serve as a key point of contact for schools, partner-teachers, community partners, and volunteers -building and maintaining the relationships that support programming across the province. Update and develop program materials, activity books, and interactive group learning activities that bring Earth Science concepts to life for K–12 audiences. Lead the creation and distribution of our monthly newsletter and other email correspondence to maintain an informed and engaged teacher and volunteer network. Maintain our internal database and the inventory of all program materials, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records. Manage MineralsEd's social media presence, including establishing a content schedule and coordinating the layout, design, and production of promotional materials such as print publications, website updates, and social media content. Contribute to the development, planning, and delivery of MineralsEd's outreach and conference presence, including AME Roundup, BC Mining Month Community Fair, the M.I.N.E/CIM conference, and other industry and public events. Process orders for MineralsEd educational materials, including packaging, invoicing, and shipping. Perform other duties assigned by management. What You Bring to the Table The successful applicant will possess the following: Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science/Geology, Geography, Environmental Science, Mining, Education, or equivalent education and experience. 1+ years of experience in the geoscience, mining, or environmental industry is considered a strong asset. 0 – 2+ years of relevant experience in program or event delivery, outreach education, or a similar position in a fast-paced, community-based, or administrative environment. Advanced written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills in both formal and informal settings, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with schools, partner organisations, and communities of interest; French is an asset. Knowledge of the K-12 education system, including supporting students through education pathways, is an asset. Strong organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, and meet reporting deadlines with a high level of attention to detail. Intrinsically motivated, passionate, and self-directed. Proficient in Microsoft Office and database software, with experience in: Desktop publishing software (e.g. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) Email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp or similar) Event registration platforms (e.g. Eventbrite or similar) Social Media platforms A valid Class 5 BC driver’s license, confident and competent driving skills in the city, suburbs, and interior, and clean driving history. Ability to occasionally work extended hours, including weekends, and to travel in BC outside of the Lower Mainland. Placement within the hiring range will be based on candidate experience relative to the requirements of the role.
