Senior Personal Injury Lawyer (5+ Years) The Opportunity Our client, a well-established and growing personal injury law firm, is seeking a Senior Personal Injury Lawyer with 5+ years of plaintiff-side experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer looking to take ownership of meaningful files, work alongside accomplished litigators and play an important role in the continued growth of a successful plaintiff-side practice. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload with strong support, handle complex personal injury matters and guide clients through every stage of the litigation process. What You’ll Be Doing Manage a caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury matters from intake through resolution. Handle motor vehicle accident, accident benefits (SABS), slip-and-fall, occupiers’ liability and long-term disability claims. Develop litigation strategies and provide clients with practical, informed legal advice. Conduct discoveries and attend mediations, motions, pre-trials, hearings and court appearances. Draft pleadings, affidavits, motion materials, legal opinions, settlement documentation and other litigation materials. Assess damages, liability and coverage issues. Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance adjusters. Work closely with medical experts, rehabilitation professionals and other specialists. Build strong relationships with clients and guide them through what can be a difficult and unfamiliar process. Collaborate with lawyers, law clerks and support staff to achieve the best possible outcomes. Provide guidance and mentorship to more junior team members where appropriate. What We’re Looking For Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. At least 5 years of personal injury litigation experience. Significant plaintiff-side experience is required. Experience independently managing files from intake through settlement or trial. Strong knowledge of tort claims, accident benefits and the applicable Ontario legislation and regulations. Demonstrated advocacy, negotiation and client-management skills. Experience conducting discoveries and appearing at mediations, motions, pre-trials or hearings. Strong drafting, analytical and organizational abilities. A practical, compassionate and client-focused approach. The ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining excellent attention to detail. A collaborative approach and an interest in contributing to the continued growth of the practice. Experience with catastrophic impairment claims, complex liability matters, serious injury cases, trials or LAT proceedings would be particularly valuable. Why Consider This Opportunity?
