Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, and industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, or Profibus. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and PLC ladder logic programs. Valid work authorization to work in Canada. Preferred Qualifications: Certification from recognized bodies such as the International Society of Automation (ISA) or equivalent. Experience with specific PLC platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Schneider Electric. Knowledge of SCADA systems and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) programming. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations applicable to manufacturing automation. Experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma. Responsibilities: Install, program, and maintain PLC systems and related automation equipment to support manufacturing operations. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in PLC-controlled machinery to minimize production interruptions. Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on PLC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement system upgrades, modifications, and process improvements. Document all maintenance activities, system configurations, and troubleshooting procedures accurately for future reference and compliance. Skills: The required skills enable the PLC Technician to effectively program, troubleshoot, and maintain complex automation systems, ensuring minimal downtime and high production quality. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential for diagnosing issues quickly and implementing effective solutions.
