Job Description Working in our Surrey BC warehouse, this successful candidate will be a part of our warehouse team manually moving freight, stock, or other materials and handle all requirements related to shipping, loading, receiving, and the unloading of material and equipment. Job Responsibilities & Requirements Job: Shipping & Receiving Specialist III Location: Surrey BC Warehouse 2455 192nd Street, Unit #102 Surrey, BC V3Z 3X1 Shift Times: Monday to Friday 7:30AM – 4:00PM Hours 40 hours per week What You Will Do: Job Responsibilities * Ensure discrepancies are handled according to proper procedure * Bundle, wrap or band material for shipment * Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use * Carry out general yard duties, such as housekeeping, cleanup, inventory/material counts and general organization * Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported * Load and unload cargo, using sit down forklift * Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected * Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment * Pack containers and re-pack damaged containers * Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs * Sort and identify cargo before loading and unloading and compare to shippers * Stack cargo in locations as directed using pallets or cargo boards * Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information * Work safely by following all MiTek health & safety procedures and policies Experience/ Skills required * High school degree or equivalent * Previous experience in a warehouse environment required * Forklift experience preferred * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively * Good communication skills * Team player Expected Salary Range: From $25-30/hour MiTek is a platform innovator and enabler that exists to transform the building industry with better building solutions.
