Résumé du poste
The Opportunity: Our client is looking to add an experienced CNC Production Manager to their leadership team in the GTA. This is a key operational position responsible for overseeing the company’s machining operations and driving performance across the entire CNC production process. This opportunity is well suited for a hands-on CNC leader who brings strong technical expertise along with proven people-management capabilities. The successful candidate will play a central role in improving production efficiency, establishing programming and tooling standards, optimizing machine setups, maintaining quality at the source, and implementing consistent manufacturing processes. What You'll Be Doing: Lead day-to-day CNC production activities, including scheduling, job priorities, WIP movement, resource allocation, and achieving production targets. Establish and maintain department-wide standards for CNC programming, program control, tooling selection, and machine setup processes. Monitor production flow and identify constraints or bottlenecks early, taking immediate action to minimize disruptions and keep work moving efficiently. Ensure smooth coordination and timely handoffs between CNC machining and assembly, maintaining clear communication across departments. Promote a proactive shop-floor culture by identifying issues quickly, addressing root causes, and resolving production challenges within the shift whenever possible. Integrate quality controls directly into CNC production by overseeing in-process inspections, first-off checks, operator quality verification, corrective actions, root cause investigations, and process capability improvements. Provide leadership and development for CNC Supervisors, machinists, and operators, fostering a culture focused on accountability, skill development, and operational excellence. Develop and maintain employee competency matrices while implementing cross-training initiatives to increase workforce flexibility, broaden technical capabilities, and support long-term succession planning. Establish measurable performance standards and provide regular coaching, feedback, and development to build a high-performing CNC team that continually raises its level of capability and productivity. Lead ongoing continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing productivity, reducing costs and cycle times, improving equipment reliability, and minimizing material and production waste. What You'll Need to Be Successful: Proven experience leading a CNC machining department, production team, or similar manufacturing operation in a hands-on capacity. Strong CNC programming and CAM expertise, with the ability to review, troubleshoot, approve, and optimize machining programs. Demonstrated ability to independently set up CNC machinery from raw material through to producing the first acceptable part. Background in precision machining with experience consistently achieving tolerances of ±0.001" or tighter across a range of relevant materials. Practical experience working within a formal quality management system, such as ISO 9001, including first-article inspection, non-conformance management, root cause analysis, corrective action, and process control. Strong people-management capabilities, including coaching, performance management, recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee development. Proficiency with ERP and production management systems, with the ability to use operational data, metrics, and reporting to drive decisions rather than relying solely on informal shop-floor knowledge. Compensation Range: $105,000-115,000/annually + discretionary bonus
