The Opportunity: We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Estimator to join our growing team in Surrey, BC. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys analyzing project requirements, developing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the successful delivery of commercial and industrial projects. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a strong technical mindset, and are passionate about delivering accurate, high-quality estimates, we'd love to hear from you. What You'll Be Doing: Review tender packages, drawings, specifications, and project scope to develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and competitive bid submissions. Complete detailed quantity of take-offs, material calculations, labour estimates, and pricing analysis to prepare comprehensive project quotations. Lead the full estimating and pre-construction process, including soliciting pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating bids, confirming scope, and managing subcontract buyouts. Create and maintain files, track pricing revisions and document updates throughout the tender process until project handover. Communicate with General Contractors, clients, consultants, and project stakeholders to respond to RFIs, clarify project scope, and manage pricing for change orders. Prepare estimate summaries, tender submissions, proposal documentation, and internal pricing reviews for management approval. Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions, assess project requirements, and validate estimating assumptions. Partner with the Project Management team during tender and project handover to ensure alignment on budgets, labour forecasts, access requirements, scheduling, and project scope. Coordinate revisions and maintain accurate documentation through the Tender, Issued for Tender (IFT), and Issued for Construction (IFC) stages to ensure contract-ready deliverables. Apply value engineering, cost analysis, and market benchmarking techniques to optimize project pricing while cultivating strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners. What You'll Need to Be Successful: Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, or a related discipline; a diploma or certificate is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with computerized estimating and quantity takeoff software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, or similar) is considered an asset. Knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and materials is an asset. Previous experience in the construction industry, particularly in estimating, project coordination, or pre-construction, is preferred. Compensation Range: $60,000-80,000/annually
