PLUMBERS & PIPE TRADES — JOURNEYPERSONS & APPRENTICES BUILD HALIFAX. WORK LOCAL. BUILD YOUR FUTURE. Modern Niagara is looking for local Journeypersons and Apprentices to join our team on the Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Halifax Infirmary Expansion in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This recruitment campaign is focused on local talent. We want to connect with skilled tradespeople who live in Halifax and surrounding Nova Scotia communities and want the opportunity to work on one of the largest healthcare construction projects in the region. Whether you're already a UA Local 56 member or you're currently non-union and interested in learning more about joining Local 56, we want to hear from you. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO: * Work on a major, long-term healthcare construction project right here in Halifax * Build your skills and experience alongside experienced tradespeople * Be part of a team delivering critical infrastructure for Nova Scotia * Build a career close to home * Join a project that will have a lasting impact on the Halifax community As construction continues to ramp up, we're building a strong pipeline of local Journeypersons and Apprentices who are interested in opportunities on the project. WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR We want to hear from: * Journeyperson Plumbers * Plumbing Apprentices — all levels * Current UA Local 56 members * Local non-union Journeypersons and Apprentices interested in exploring membership with Local 56 WHAT YOU'LL BRING * Experience or training in the plumbing/pipe trades * A strong commitment to workplace safety * Ability to work effectively as part of a construction team * Strong work ethic, reliability and professionalism * Willingness to learn and continue developing your trade * Experience in commercial, institutional or healthcare construction is an asset BE JOB READY To be job ready for the QEII project, candidates should have current: * Fall Arrest / Fall Protection — 8-hour course * EWP (Elevated Work Platform) — 8-hour course * WHMIS Don't have all of the required training yet? We still want to hear from you. For qualified local candidates who are a good fit for the project but don't currently have the required training, we can explore training opportunities to help you meet the project requirements and become job ready. Our goal is to build a strong local workforce and help provide local tradespeople with the training and tools they need to succeed on the QEII project.
