Locations: Pickering or Kincardine Vacancies: 15 positions Work Arrangement: On-site, five days per week Duration: 1 year (extended annually) Hourly Rate: $90 - $120/hour Position Breakdown 5 Electrical Engineers with active Bruce Power security clearance. 5 Electrical Engineers with active OPG security clearance. 5 High-Voltage Electrical Engineers with active Bruce Power and/or OPG security clearance. Position Summary We are seeking experienced Electrical Engineers to complete complex engineering assignments supporting nuclear projects at OPG and Bruce Power. The successful candidates will provide advanced technical support across electrical design, analysis, field execution and problem resolution. Several positions will specifically support high-voltage electrical systems. Candidates must have at least six years of related engineering experience and an active security clearance for the applicable site. Key Responsibilities Complete complex electrical engineering assignments involving design, analysis, evaluation, specifications and field execution. Prepare and review engineering calculations, designs, technical specifications and project documentation. Evaluate electrical systems, equipment and components to confirm compliance with project and operational requirements. Provide technical guidance and review the work of other engineering team members. Develop or modify engineering methods, systems and models to address complex technical requirements. Ensure work complies with applicable electrical codes, nuclear standards, quality requirements and client procedures. Support equipment testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and return-to-service activities. Provide engineering support during construction, installation and field execution. Investigate technical issues, complete root-cause assessments and recommend practical solutions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, project management, operations and field teams. Research industry best practices and recommend improvements to engineering methods and processes. Prepare progress updates and communicate technical risks or concerns to project leadership. Perform other project-related duties as required. High-voltage candidates may also be responsible for: Supporting the design, operation and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems and equipment. Completing or reviewing power-system studies, including load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination and arc-flash analysis. Supporting transformers, switchgear, breakers, substations, transmission or distribution systems and protective relaying. Reviewing equipment specifications, single-line diagrams, protection schemes and electrical calculations. Supporting high-voltage testing, commissioning, troubleshooting and equipment replacement activities. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.) in Ontario is required. Minimum six years of related electrical engineering experience. Previous experience supporting nuclear power projects or working within an operating nuclear facility. Active OPG or Bruce Power security clearance, depending on the assignment. Advanced knowledge of applicable electrical codes, engineering standards, techniques and criteria. Experience preparing and reviewing electrical designs, calculations and technical documentation. High-voltage systems experience is required for five of the available positions. Experience with specialized electrical engineering or power-system analysis software is an asset. Strong technical writing, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
