Location: North York, ON – Hybrid Contract Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension (extendable up to 1-2 additional years) or possibility of conversion Working Hours: M-F 35 hours per week Pay Rate: $50-70/hour as T4 or INC Job Title: Utilities Engineer Qualifications and Experience Education and Qualifications University degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience and Technical Knowledge Demonstrated knowledge of civil and utility engineering principles for underground infrastructure. Four (4) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a civil engineering or municipal infrastructure environment, gained as a Civil Engineering Technologist (CET), Municipal CET, Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.). Working knowledge of Ontario municipal and utility regulatory frameworks. Experience reviewing utility‑related engineering designs and submissions. Understanding of project management principles, including cost and schedule control. Experience coordinating with multiple internal and external stakeholders. Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and documentation skills. Ability to maintain accurate and well‑documented records of commitments and approvals. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with standard office tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Power BI. Additional Requirements Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and access to a vehicle. Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Civil Engineering Technologist (CET) is mandatory. Ability to obtain and maintain required safety and operating certifications. Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire, accessibility obligations and the Ontario Human Rights Code. Assets Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
