Located in Waterloo, this full-time Senior Data Scientist opportunity is with an innovative technology organization focused on advanced analytics and machine learning. The team is leveraging Python-based machine learning frameworks, statistical modeling, anomaly detection, clustering, classification, and data quality analysis to solve challenging real-world problems in a highly technical environment. This is a rare opportunity for a senior-level machine learning professional who wants to own technical direction rather than manage people. The biggest draw of this role is the ability to influence production-grade ML systems that directly impact mission-critical technology solutions. The team is looking for someone who can combine deep statistical expertise with practical machine learning experience to improve model performance, guide technical decisions, and mentor peers. You'll have the chance to work alongside subject matter experts, tackle difficult data science challenges, expand your technical leadership skills, and make a measurable impact while enjoying a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of Data Science or Machine Learning experience Expertise in statistics, experimental design, model evaluation and validation Strong experience with anomaly detection Advance Python programming skills with object-oriented design experience Desired Skills & Experience Knowledge of signal processing Experience working with sensor, time-series, or scientific measurement data Familiarity with Azure-based machine learning workflows What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown 75% Python/Machine Learning/Statistical Modeling 25% Data Engineering, MLOps, and Production Support Daily Responsibilities 80% Hands On 5% Management Duties 15% Team Collaboration Current Vacancy: Yes Use of AI in Hiring: Yes Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the Canada on a full-time basis now and in the future.
