ROLE The nurse fulfilling this role will be required to provide support to all clinical areas of the hospital according to their scope of practice and clinical expertise, To administer direct nursing care for patients in those areas assigned. Plans, organizes, and delivers nursing care in a variety of settings. Initiate and assist in Code Blue & Rapid Response procedure. Plans for and communicates to other nursing staff regarding patient needs and priorities when leaving one patient care area to ensure continuity of care. Communicates to physicians, other departments or organizations, regarding issues affecting patient care. Participates in quality control activities and understands the quality care goals of the organization. The individual is vigilant in ensuring that quality issues are brought to the attention of the appropriate manager/coordinator. Participate in educational activities to maintain and advance competency and experience in all areas of patient care. Performs other duties as required including occasional escort duties for patients being transferred to other institutions for diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Required Education & Certification(s) Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario Current BLS (Basic Life Support) IV Therapy Required Skills & Experience(s) Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and in an interdisciplinary team environment Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task Show an eagerness and capacity to adapt to change Ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues and management Regular and punctual attendance is a requirement of this position Desired Skills, Experience(s) & Education 2 years of previous Complex Continuing Care, Long Term Care or Medical/Surgical nursing experience Additional Perks At Mahc Staff referral program $1000 (for each successful permanent part-time and permanent full-time new hire you refer to MAHC) Retention Bonus $7500 (permanent full-time/permanent part-time, eligible positions only) Extended health benefits (permanent full-time) Enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) Additional Information Location: Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements per the collective agreement. Exigences

Requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, BLS certification, and IV therapy training. Preferred candidates have 2 years of experience in Complex Continuing Care, Long Term Care, or Medical/Surgical nursing.
