City Pick-up & Delivery Driver

Central Prairie Cartage is currently hiring a Class 1 City P&D Driver f ideal candidate must be available to work Monday to Friday starting at 7:30 am. Central Prairie Cartage is an up and coming new freight carrier coming to Red Deer. Specializing in LTL Central Prairie Cartage is looking for experienced Class 1 Pick-up & Delivery Drivers. If you are looking for a change and are eager to grow with our new and evolving company Central Prairie Cartage is for you. As a Class 1 City Pick-Up & Delivery Driver you load and unload your truck while completing pick-ups and deliveries around the Red Deer area. Duties will include; * Operating a truck and trailer combination including 48 and 53 foot trailers * May operate a power tailgate * Operating a forklift on a cross dock * Using a pallet jack and manually lifting to load and unload your body job * Maintaining driver logs * Completing associated paperwork * General shop duties such as cleaning, sweeping, and organizing We are looking for someone who has: * Valid Class 1 license, * 2-5 years Class 1 driving experience * Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding safe operation of commercial vehicles, hours of service, and handling of dangerous goods * Experience operating a pallet jack * Experience operating a forklift * Ability to chain up as required * Strong command of the English language * And a positive attitude * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs manually * Availability to work overtime as needed Please submit a 5 year commercial abstract with all resumes to be considered for this role. Candidates must possess a valid Class 1 license and have 2-5 years of relevant driving experience. The role requires the ability to operate heavy equipment, handle dangerous goods, and perform manual labor including lifting up to 50 lbs.
