Financeit is a Canadian company specializing in providing point of sale financing services to businesses in sectors such as home improvement, retail and recreational vehicles as well as direct-to-customer personal loans. It allows businesses to provide financing options to customers during the purchase process. Working with major financing institutions, this award-winning company has approximately $2.5B in funding capacity to fuel the growth of its financing business. As this entrepreneurial company continues to grow, it is seeking a finance lawyer to join its Legal Department. While the bulk of the work will be sophisticated asset-backed / structured finance transactions, there will also be an opportunity to get involved in general corporate / commercial work and eventually have a more generalist practice as you develop. This Toronto position located in The Well, reports to the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer and is in office 3 days / week. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years’ of securitization / structured finance experience gained from a major firm or corporation. The ability to interact with stakeholders and work on the transactions independently will be required. You should be self-motivated, confident and able to build relationships with business groups. As well, you should possess leadership abilities, including being decisive, confident and having strong communication skills.
